Battle for IEBC Slots Heats Up: Meet Isiolo’s Top Contenders!

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) selection panel has published a list of 1,319 candidates who applied for the position of commissioner, alongside 37 individuals who expressed interest in the role of IEBC Chairperson. The long list features names from various regions across the country, with Western and Nyanza regions showing particularly strong interest.

Notably, Isiolo County had no applicants for the position of Chairperson. However, a total of 17 candidates from the region have expressed interest in the six available slots for IEBC commissioners. Among the notable candidates are Dr. Abduba Molu, Adan Kabelo, Adano Salado Kadubo, Salad Boru Guracha, and Halake Osman Dadacha, who are expected to compete for the positions. The list from Isiolo includes a mix of long-standing civil servants and individuals with political experience, bringing a wealth of expertise to the table.

Dr. Abduba Molu, an expert in governance and leadership, is a well-polished individual who brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. Adan Kabelo, who once contested for Isiolo Governor but lost, has years of experience in the NGO sector and offers a strong background in public service. Salad Boru, one of Isiolo’s finest legal minds and the longest-serving clerk of the Isiolo County Assembly, is also expected to be a strong contender.

Here at The True North, we extend our best wishes to all the candidates and hope that Isiolo County secures a slot in the coveted IEBC.
