Today, CPA Abduba received accolades during the awards ceremony at CIALA Hotel in Kisumu. Joining the celebration, the High Commissioners of Tanzania and Sudan served as the invited Guests of Honor.

Before taking up Isiolo’s agriculture sector, CPA Abduba served as Chief Officer for Water. During that tenure, he spearheaded the development of Isiolo County water strategy which was officially launched.

Through his leadership, the water department expanded access to clean water, rehabilitated boreholes, and improved water supply systems for over 20,000 households and pastoral communities. By prioritizing climate-smart water management, he laid the groundwork for irrigation projects now sustaining crops and livestock amid worsening droughts.

As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), CPA Abduba combines financial expertise with governance acumen honed at the National Council for Population and Development (NCPD), where he served as a Senior management accountant and ag chief accountant. This dual proficiency enables him to allocate resources transparently, attracting partnerships with relevant development partners and national agencies.

Under Governor Abdi Guyo’s stewardship, CPA Abduba has championed policies bridging grassroots needs with national agendas. For instance, the Isiolo County Crop Policy will help in shifting farming from rain-fed subsistence to climate-resilient irrigated agriculture.

Meanwhile, his initiatives extend beyond crop farming. By deploying solar-powered fencing, the department helped farmers to secure their farms from wildlife encroachment, while rehabilitating farm ponds provided water access to 5,000+ struggling farmers. In parallel, improved veterinary services and vaccination drives reduced livestock mortality by 30%, bolstering incomes for 15,000 pastoral households.

CPA Godana, accompanying Gov. Guyo, showcased the Isiolo Export Abattoir during Ruto’s visit.

A pivotal moment came during President William Ruto’s recent tour of Isiolo, while accompanying Governor Guyo, CPA Abduba showcased the Export Abattoir’s capacity to process cattle, camels, goats, and sheep. This project, developed with national, donor, and county funding, aims to link pastoralists to Gulf markets, potentially doubling household incomes by 2026.

Looking ahead, the department is fast-tracking the Isiolo Agriculture Training Centre (ATC) Policy, which will formalize skills development in mechanization, agribusiness, and climate-smart practices.

Ultimately, the Pollster Rankings recognition underscores his role in transcending bureaucratic silos to empower communities.

As Kenya confronts climate shocks, CPA Abduba’s blend of policy innovation and grassroots engagement offers a blueprint for sustainable development—proving transformative leadership thrives at the intersection of local action and national vision.
