Dullo Manipulates Innocent Gen-Zs to Incite Chaos in Isiolo

This week, Kenya’s Gen-Zs across counties, including Isiolo, protested against an unfavorable bill. The peaceful demonstration in Isiolo quickly turned chaotic, allegedly orchestrated by Senator Dullo’s office and her aligned group, supported by a controversial figure seeking refuge abroad.

Their actions destroyed the office of Isiolo Women Representative Hon. Mumina Bonaya and hospitalized four individuals due to police intervention.

Recent reports suggest Senator Dullo and associates plan to escalate tensions next week, posing as a Gen-Z movement demanding accountability from Isiolo’s County government by attempting to occupy the Governor’s office.

Hijacked Intentions: Distorted Purpose

However, the original, noble, and organic intent of the Gen-Z protest transcending tribal and political affiliations has been hijacked by opportunistic elements.

Anonymous sources within Isiolo’s youth community have voiced disapproval, distancing themselves from what they describe as a manipulative agenda led by “FD merchants”.

They emphasize this upheaval exploits youth for personal and political gain, rather than serving community interests.

Empowering Isiolo’s Youth: A Path Forward

The Executive Office of the President outlines the roadmap for the National Multi-Sectoral Forum on Youth Engagement.

Amidst this tumult, Isiolo’s youth have a unique opportunity through the newly announced National Multi-Sectoral Forum (NMSF). By consolidating local youth organizations and engaging national bodies, they can effectively advocate for local issues like employment, education, and infrastructure.

Involvement includes nominating informed representatives to the National Steering Committee (NSC) to ensure their voices influence policy-making.

Active participation in the NSC will be crucial once established. Isiolo’s representatives must maintain ongoing engagement, providing regular updates and ensuring inclusivity for marginalized groups. Broad participation and well-researched proposals will empower Isiolo’s youth to influence national policies impacting their future.

Concerns about escalating tensions prompt a poignant question directed at Senator Dullo: Would she expose her own children to risks from upcoming protests she instigates? This query underscores her responsibility for potential harm resulting from these actions.

Prioritizing Genuine Leadership

Senator Dullo’s manipulation of Isiolo’s youth for political gain risks further division and harm. She must reconsider her approach and prioritize youth welfare over political expediency. Genuine leadership and responsible stewardship, not exploitation for short-term gains, are crucial for Isiolo’s youth future.
