Governor Abdi Guyo on Wednesday delivered a powerful political statement at the heart of Isiolo Town, stamping his authority and silencing doubters with a commanding show of might. The message was clear: the Governor remains firmly in charge, with the people and leaders of Isiolo standing solidly behind him.
The Governor’s dramatic entry into town ignited an atmosphere of jubilation, with crowds chanting “Tutam!” as songs and celebrations filled the air. What unfolded was not just a reception, it was a declaration of unity and confidence in Guyo’s leadership. Accompanied by his Deputy Dr. James Lowasa, County Assembly Speaker Hon. Abdullahi Banticha, County Woman Representative Hon. Mumina Bonaya, former Governor Godana Doyo, and 12 Members of the County Assembly, Guyo’s entourage showcased the unrivaled political capital he commands.
One by one, leaders took to the podium, making it clear that Isiolo will not be distracted by petty power games. The message was unanimous: Isiolo must move forward, united, peaceful, and focused on development. The rallying cry “Isiolo Pamoja! One People. One County. One Destiny” echoed across the gathering, cementing Guyo’s call for unity.
The Governor outlined his administration’s tangible achievements that have transformed lives across Isiolo, including expanded access to water, construction of ECDE classrooms, completion of the Isiolo abattoir, the first tarmac in Bulapesa, and the Kamukuri Bridge, among other milestone projects. These, he noted, are proof of what focused leadership can deliver when not derailed by divisive politics.
Hon. Mumina Bonaya did not mince words as she called for an end to vile politics of division, urging Isiolo to bury the failed impeachment fiasco once and for all. “It is time to heal, unite, and focus on service delivery,” she said, a sentiment echoed by every MCA present.
In a show of rare political solidarity, each MCA pledged total support for Governor Guyo, vowing to work with him in steering Isiolo toward peace, progress, and prosperity.
