Isiolo, Kenya – Governor Abdi Ibrahim Hassan has issued 1,191 allotment letters to residents of Bulapesa Ward. The event marked a major breakthrough in solving long-standing land ownership issues in the region.
For years, residents lived without formal proof of land ownership. This created frequent disputes and hindered development. With the new letters, families now have legal recognition and can access essential services such as loans and infrastructure.
The County Government conducted comprehensive land surveys across Bulapesa to support this process. Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Hassan reaffirmed his commitment to resolving title deed delays in Isiolo. He emphasized that his administration would continue processing genuine titles for all rightful landowners.
“This is not just about paperwork — it’s about dignity, security, and justice for our people,” he said. “I promised the residents of Bulapesa that I would be the first Governor to tarmac their roads and resolve land adjudication issues. Today, we are delivering on that promise.”
Additionally, the Governor pledged to settle KSh. 54 million in outstanding land processing fees. This move is expected to eliminate barriers and accelerate title issuance across the county. It also aims to reduce future land disputes.
The event drew key officials, including County Commissioner Geoffrey Omoding, NLC Vice Chair Gertrude Nguku, Commissioner Tiya Galgalo, and Lands CEC Yusuf Dahir. Their presence reflected strong support from both county and national leadership.
Residents welcomed the development with gratitude. They praised the County Government for stepping up to address land matters. Many highlighted recent improvements such as murramed roads, installed streetlights, and opened access roads.
Later that day, Governor Hassan commissioned the Kamankuri Bridge. He also launched tarmacking works for several roads in Bulapesa. These projects aim to ease transport challenges, especially during rainy seasons.
By addressing both land rights and infrastructure, the Isiolo County Government continues to strengthen service delivery. The administration remains focused on ensuring dignity, stability, and progress for all residents.
