“Education First, Politics Can Wait,” – Hon. Mumina

Isiolo’s MP Hon. Mumina has one message to her Isiolo people: “Masomo Kwanza” (Education first) . At a lively event today, she handed over a brand-new school van worth Ksh. 5.6 million to Isiolo Girls’ Secondary School—and made it clear she’s not here for political millage. “I didn’t take this job to cut ribbons and disappear,” she said. “Real change starts in our classrooms. And trust me, we’re just getting started.”

The board chair lauded her: “Apparently, we’ve lost count of how many times Hon. Mumina stood up with us. Next time We’ll invite her back to open our modern library!”. Her last year’s fundraiser managed to raise funds for a new generator, school van and a modern library currently under construction.

The timing isn’t random. Just weeks ago, Mumina hosted Isiolo’s first big education meeting, where stakeholders grilled over why local schools have lagged behind. Her fix? “Lets invest in education and keep our kids here ,” she urged parents. “Why pay to send them away when we can build something great right at home?”

As the event wrapped up, students piled into the new van for a test drive, honking horn while teachers and parents cheered.

For this great county, it’s not just a van. It’s an opportunity that maybe—just maybe—their schools won’t be left in the dust anymore and education will for the first time be the key to transforming lives.
