Governor Guyo Honors Raila Odinga’s Legacy, Calls for Unity Among Isiolo Leaders

Isiolo Governor Abdi Hassan Guyo has paid glowing tribute to Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, recognizing his lifelong contribution to Kenya’s democratic journey and the fight for devolution.

Speaking during Mashujaa Day celebrations at Ngaremara Primary School, Governor Guyo described Raila as one of the nation’s foremost patriots whose courage, resilience, and sacrifices helped shape modern Kenya. He credited the former Prime Minister for playing a central role in the promulgation of the 2010 Constitution, which laid the foundation for devolution and brought government services closer to ordinary citizens.

The Governor said Raila’s dedication to democracy and good governance continues to inspire leaders across the country to serve with integrity and courage.

Governor Guyo also appealed to Isiolo’s elected leaders to put aside political divisions and work together for the common good. He emphasized that unity of purpose remains the surest path to meaningful development and lasting peace.

He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to inclusive governance, Peace building, and equitable growth, noting that progress can only be sustained when leaders remain focused on service above politics.

This year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations brought together thousands of residents, local leaders, and community heroes who turned up to honor those who have played a part in Kenya’s freedom and development story.
