The Isiolo County Assembly on Tuesday offered a solemn tribute to the late Hon. Mohamed Tubi Bidu, the institution’s first Speaker and a former Member of Parliament for Isiolo South. Lawmakers reflected on his influential role in shaping the early legislative framework of the county, strengthening public participation, and advancing development and education across his constituency.

Hon. Abdirashid Ali recalled that Mr. Tubi often embraced the title “Pioneer Speaker,” a designation he valued for what it represented: his imprint on the Assembly’s formative years and the institutional gains made under his leadership. In her remarks, Hon. Fatuma Abdullahi noted that he was instrumental in the passage of laws that continue to benefit Isiolo residents, adding a prayer that he may rest in eternal peace.
Hon. Fozia Adan described him as a man who “walked with purpose, spoke with clarity, and served with honor,” saying his influence endures well beyond his time in office.
Mr. Tubi’s public record remains a marker of principled leadership and quiet resolve. As the Assembly honored his memory, it extended condolences to his family and all those whose lives were shaped by his years of service.
